Bishkek, Sept. 11, 2024. / Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov met today with Uzbek boxing coach Akmal Khasanov and presented him a car as a token of gratitude for his contribution to the victory of Kyrgyz boxer Munarbek Seyitbek uulu.
The presidential press service said that the head of state in a conversation with Akmal Khasanov emphasized that his act glorified the friendship and unity of the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
“The whole world saw that the peoples of Central Asia support each other, demonstrating cohesion and friendly relations. Sports are called the ambassador of peace. By your example, you contribute to strengthening mutual agreement. I wish that our unity only grows stronger,” said Sadyr Zhaparov.
The president also noted the good results of Uzbek athletes at the Olympics in Paris.
"Uzbekistan pays great attention to sports. We have only begun to actively support our athletes in the last three years. Previously, there were cases when we could not provide funds for participation in competitions in a timely manner. Now the state is creating all the necessary conditions, including providing vitamins," the head of state emphasized.
Sadyr Zhaparov especially noted that Akmal Khasanov performed a heroic act when our Olympic silver medalist Munarbek Seyitbek uulu was especially in need of support.
"Our ancestors presented their heroes with horses as a sign of recognition. Nowadays, it is customary to give cars, but the spirit of tradition remains unchanged - it is an expression of respect and gratitude for outstanding merits," the president added.
In turn, Akmal Khasanov expressed gratitude for the warm words and noted that he had met Munarbek Seyitbek uulu many times at training camps and agreed to become his second without hesitation.
He also congratulated President Sadyr Zhaparov and all Kyrgyzstanis on their well-deserved victory, wishing that Kyrgyzstan athletes would win a gold medal at the next Olympic Games.
