Bishkek, April 22, 2024. / Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov received today British Foreign Secretary, Lord David Cameron, who arrived in the country on an official visit as part of a tour of Central Asia.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the prospects for Kyrgyz-British bilateral cooperation, including in the political, trade, economic, investment, energy and transport spheres.
The parties also discussed the possibilities of expanding interaction between the two countries on issues of education and seasonal labor migration, as well as current topics on the regional and international agenda.
Welcoming Lord David Cameron, Sadyr Zhaparov noted that Great Britain occupies an important place in the country’s foreign policy in the western direction.
In turn, the British foreign minister expressed gratitude to Sadyr Zhaparov for the warm welcome. He emphasized the importance of developing and strengthening Kyrgyz-British cooperation in various fields, and also noted the existing great potential between the two countries.
In conclusion, Sadyr Zhaparov expressed confidence that David Cameron’s official visit to Kyrgyzstan will give new impetus to multifaceted cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the UK.
