Sadyr Zhaparov receives chairman of People's Government of XUAR of China

Bishkek, April 2, 2024. /Kabar/. President Sadyr Zhaparov today received Chairman of the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, Erkin Tuniyaz, who arrived in the country for a working visit.

An exchange of views took place on issues of expanding cooperation, promising projects, especially in such areas as digitalization, transport logistics, investment, agriculture and humanitarian areas.

Welcoming the guest, the head of state noted that he warmly recalled his state visit to China in May last year and, taking the opportunity, conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Sadyr Zhaparov noted the importance of increasing cooperation with the XUAR and accelerating the practical implementation of joint projects. In addition, Kyrgyzstan is always ready to expand and strengthen cooperation with China within the SCO, the One Belt, One Road initiative and the Central Asia-China format.

During the meeting, the head of state noted that traditionally friendly and good neighborly ties, mutual trust between Kyrgyzstan and China contribute to the further strengthening of a comprehensive strategic partnership, as well as stability and security in the region, which fully meets common interests.

President Sadyr Zhaparov stated that China is one of the main trade and investment partners of Kyrgyzstan. He also noted with satisfaction the successful progress of construction of the largest joint project - the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.

Chairman of the People's Government of the XUAR of China Erkin Tuniyaz, in turn, noted that a large delegation arrived in Kyrgyzstan, including business representatives representing more than 50 large companies ready to implement joint projects.

Erkin Tuniyaz emphasized that they always pay great attention to those projects that were previously discussed at the level of the leadership of the two parties, and are ready for their practical implementation.

He also noted with satisfaction that the indicators of trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and the XUAR are growing, and emphasized the importance of promoting trade and economic ties.

In addition, the parties paid special attention to the successful and continuous operation of the Erkechtam and Torugart checkpoints, which is an important factor in the further increase in mutual trade between the two countries.
