Sadyr Zhaparov receives Du Dewen due to completion of her diplomatic mission

Bishkek, Dec. 7, 2024 . / Kabar / . President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received Ambassador of China to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen in connection with the completion of her diplomatic mission in Kyrgyzstan.

During the conversation, Sadyr Zhaparov expressed gratitude to the ambassador for her significant contribution to the development of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations, noting the high level of interaction achieved in recent years.

The president noted the special significance of joint infrastructure projects, such as the upcoming launch of the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad, the opening of the Bedel checkpoint, the construction of the North-South alternative road and the Kyrgyz-Chinese Friendship Bridge, as well as the modernization of the Junda oil refinery.

The Kyrgyz leader emphasized the significant growth of trade turnover between the countries recently, and also expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for the grant assistance provided, which allowed to implement a number of important projects in Kyrgyzstan.

Chinese Ambassador Du Dewen expressed gratitude for the reception and emphasized that under the strategic leadership of President Xi Jinping and Kyrgyz leader Sadyr Zhaparov, Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation has reached a historically high level.

She emphasized that over the past few years it has been possible to launch a number of major projects that had been postponed for decades.

For example, the strategic project of construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad and the opening of the Bedel checkpoint are of crucial importance not only for the two countries, but also for the entire region.

Du Dewen noted that the growth of trade turnover between the countries shows positive dynamics. While in 2019 its volume was about USD 6 billion, it is expected to reach more than USD 20 billion this year. China remains the largest trade and investment partner of Kyrgyzstan.

Concluding the meeting, President Sadyr Zhaparov thanked the ambassador for her fruitful work, emphasizing that she had become a well-known and respected personality in Kyrgyzstan.

The Kyrgyz leader wished her good health, happiness and success in her future professional activities.
