Sadyr Zhaparov receives First Deputy PM, FM of Serbia Ivica Dacic

Bishkek, April 6, 2023. / Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received today First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic, who arrived in the country for an official visit.

An exchange of views took place on the current state and prospects of the Kyrgyz-Serbian bilateral cooperation.

The head of state noted that there is a significant potential for political, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. Kyrgyzstan is open to joint work with Serbian partners.

He stressed that in the political plane, Kyrgyzstan and Serbia have no disagreements or contentious issues, which is very pleasing to the Kyrgyz side.

Sadyr Zhaparov expressed confidence in the need to continue joint work for further cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Serbia and conveyed warm greetings to President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.

At the same time, the head of state focused on the importance of further development of trade and economic ties between the countries.

In turn, Ivica Dacic thanked Sadyr Zhaparov for the meeting and also conveyed warm greetings on behalf of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and his invitation to visit their country.

The head of the Serbian Foreign Ministry expressed satisfaction with visiting friendly Kyrgyzstan and noted that his visit to the country is historical, as he is the first Serbian foreign minister who has come for an official visit in the past 25 years.

Ivica Dacic noted that the two countries have similar positions on many issues, but bilateral cooperation is still underdeveloped. In this context, it is important that such visits be an impetus for the development of joint interaction.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop and strengthen friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and Serbia in various fields. The need to create conditions for mutually beneficial ties in all areas of cooperation was emphasized.
