Bishkek, Nov. 5, 2021 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received Minister of Foreign Trade Relations and Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Szijjarto within the framework of the First Central Asia - European Union Economic Forum.
An exchange of views took place on topical issues of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary and measures for its further development, the press service of the head of state reported.
The head of state expressed gratitude to Peter Szijjarto for his support and participation in the First European Union - Central Asia Economic Forum.
“We hope that in the future this platform will become a stable mechanism of economic cooperation and interaction between the countries of Central Asia and the European Union with its secretariat. We count on Hungary's support in our initiative,” Sadyr Zhaparov said.
The president highly appreciated the relations with Hungary, which is a strategic partner of Kyrgyzstan in the European Union.
Sadyr Zhaparov expressed gratitude to the government of Hungary and personally to Peter Szijjarto for support in the opening of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Hungary on Oct. 4. Today the embassy is functioning and in the very near future an ambassador of the country will be appointed.
The head of state also positively noted the holding of the first meeting of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Strategic Council on Oct. 4 in Budapest. He expressed confidence that this would become an effective mechanism for discussing topical bilateral issues on the agenda.
Sadyr Zhaparov recalled the forthcoming parliamentary elections on Nov. 28 of this year and, in this regard, announced his intention to open the first polling station at the embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Hungary.
The president invited Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban to visit Kyrgyzstan at any time convenient for him.
The head of state noted with satisfaction today's launch of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund and the first meeting of the Fund Council with the personal participation of Peter Szijjarto.
The president expressed his hope that as a result of the successful implementation of joint projects, it would be possible to increase the authorized capital of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund to USD 50 million.
In turn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto noted that it is a great honor for him to meet with Sadyr Zhaparov again.
He congratulated the Kyrgyz side on the successful organization and holding of the EU-CA Forum at the highest level.
Peter Szijjarto thanked Sadyr Zhaparov for his commitment to the development of bilateral Hungarian-Kyrgyz relations and expressed the intention of the Hungarian side to fill the strategic relations between the two countries with serious content, bringing them to a new level.
“We are sincerely pleased with the launch of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund. Since we have a common goal - to identify as many joint projects as possible for their effective implementation,” said the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Affairs of Hungary.
During the conversation, Peter Szijjarto added that the Hungarian side decided to recognize the passports for vaccination of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic. Thus, vaccinated Kyrgyzstanis will be able to freely enter and visit Hungary.
In addition, he said that in 2022 direct flights from Budapest to Bishkek will be open.
The minister, discussing the field of education, noted the need to build up bilateral cooperation not only with universities, but also in primary and secondary education.
Peter Szijjarto reaffirmed that Hungary will make every effort to maintain a high level of strategic relations with Kyrgyzstan.
