Bishkek, Feb. 11, 2023 / Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received President of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) media corporation Jamie Fly at his request.
The head of state noted that Kyrgyzstan, as a free and democratic country, has all the conditions for the full functioning of independent media, and freedom of speech is an integral part of the life of society.
Sadyr Zhaparov stressed that the only requirement for everyone, without exception, is to comply with national legislation prohibiting the dissemination of false information.
In turn, Jamie Fly expressed gratitude to the head of state for the meeting, and also confirmed the high level of freedom of speech in Kyrgyzstan.
