Sadyr Zhaparov receives Secretary of State, Senior Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Kiyoto Tsuji

Bishkek, June 3, 2024. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov received today Secretary of State, Senior Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Kiyoto Tsuji.

During the meeting, issues of strengthening political dialogue, inter-parliamentary relations, as well as the development of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations were discussed.

The head of state noted that he remembers his visit to Japan with warmth, and emphasized that the results of the meetings with Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida laid a solid foundation for further deepening partnership relations between the countries.

Noting the importance of holding the first summit of heads of state of the “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue, Sadyr Zhaparov stated the historical significance of this meeting, which should play a key role in the further deepening of regional cooperation within the framework of the dialogue and in the search for new, practically implementable forms of interaction.

Along with this, the head of state especially noted that long-term cooperation with Japan in a wide range of areas of bilateral interaction is extremely important for Kyrgyzstan, and added that the parties have a lot of work to do to achieve their goals and objectives.

Secretary of State, Senior Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Kiyoto Tsuji, in turn, thanked for the reception and noted that the holding of the “Central Asia + Japan” dialogue summit should become a historical moment in the development of multilateral interaction between the countries of the region.

The senior vice minister of foreign affairs highly appreciated the interaction between the two countries in preparation for the summit and expressed their readiness to fully devote efforts to the success of the event.

He said that the Japanese side intends to put forward new cooperation initiatives that will ensure sustainable development of the region and resolve global issues.

Kiyoto Tsuji emphasized that Japan, as part of deepening cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, is ready to consider the implementation of joint projects aimed at developing tourism, human resources and supporting small and medium-sized businesses.

At the end, the parties also discussed the successful joint One Village, One Product project.
