Sadyr Zhaparov receives Valentina Matvienko

Bishkek, Nov. 16, 2023. / Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matvienko, who arrived in the country to participate in a meeting of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

An exchange of views took place on a number of topical issues of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation, including the development of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries.

The head of state, warmly welcoming Valentina Matvienko, noted that Kyrgyz-Russian relations have positive dynamics and cover almost all spheres of life. Relations between the two countries are strategic and allied in nature.

In this context, the president emphasized the recent official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan, which gave an important impetus to the development of bilateral relations.

Taking this opportunity, Sadyr Zhaparov conveyed his warmest greetings and best wishes to Vladimir Putin.

Speaking about inter-parliamentary cooperation, the head of state emphasized that with the personal support of Valentina Matvienko, parliamentary diplomacy has become an important channel of bilateral interaction. Constant contacts are maintained at the leadership level and at the level of deputies.

In turn, the head of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, Valentina Matvienko, conveyed greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Matvienko emphasized the interest of the Russian side in further expanding and deepening cooperation in a number of areas of mutual interest. In this context, she noted the positive dynamics of increasing bilateral trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

In particular, the chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation indicated great interest among Russian large companies that are ready for the mutually beneficial implementation of infrastructure projects in Kyrgyzstan.

During the conversation, Valentina Matvienko also expressed words of gratitude to Sadyr Zhaparov for supporting the Russian language in the country, emphasizing that, on the initiative of the leaders of the two countries, a successful project such as the construction of 9 modern Kyrgyz-Russian schools will be implemented in Kyrgyzstan.
