Bishkek, Oct. 15, 2021 / Kabar /. The 30th anniversary meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States took place via videoconference on Oct.15.
The meeting was chaired by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. The summit was also attended by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrilitsa, President of Russiaion Vladimir Putin, President Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Chairman of the Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev.
During the event, the heads of delegations of the CIS states exchanged views on interaction within the framework of the Commonwealth on international and regional problems, the participants summed up the main results of multilateral interaction, discussed issues of security, trade, economic and humanitarian partnership, as well as other topical aspects of interaction in a real situation.
In his speech, Sadyr Zhaparov noted that over 30 years the CIS has helped to preserve and develop a common economic, cultural, humanitarian and information space, which to a large extent has been a support in the formation and strengthening of new sovereign states.
He focused the attention of the participants in the Council meeting on the early completion of the process of delimitation and demarcation of the state borders of the Commonwealth member states, and also stressed the need to jointly carry out comprehensive and high-quality work to strengthen confidence-building measures in the CIS border area.
In addition, the head of state invited a mission of observers from the CIS and other organizations to monitor the upcoming parliamentary elections.
At the same time, Sadyr Zhaparov called on the international community to provide comprehensive and food support to the multinational Afghan people, and offered the meeting participants to send humanitarian aid to Afghanistan under the auspices of the CIS.
Alexander Lukashenko, Chairman of the Council of CIS Heads of State, supported Sadyr Zhaparov's initiative and instructed the CIS Executive Committee to organize the relevant work.
Following the meeting, a number of documents were adopted, including a statement by the heads of the CIS member states in connection with the 30th anniversary of the CIS.
