Bishkek, Dec.10, 2024. /Kabar/. As part of his working trip to Issyk-Kul Oblast, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov visited the renovated military unit #2028 named after Baisary uulu Kydyr ake of the Border Guard Service of the State Committee for National Security, located in Karakol.
The press service of the Kyrgyz president reported that major reconstruction of all buildings, including administrative buildings and living quarters was completed.
Speaking to the servicemen, the Kyrgyz leader recalled that he visited the facility in the spring of this year and instructed to start repair work.
“I immediately ordered a major overhaul of the entire infrastructure, including the headquarters, training center, barracks, checkpoints, motor pool and other buildings. And now the unit, which guards the 676-kilometer-long section of the state border, has appeared before us in a renewed form,” the president said.
Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that this year more than KGS 1 billion 240 million were allocated to improve social conditions for military personnel, construction of housing and other facilities.
“Recently, a new Bedel checkpoint on the border with China was built and put into operation. And in the Karakol international airport, which will open tomorrow, modern conditions for service have been created”, added Sadyr Zhaparov, noting that these measures are aimed at ensuring that the defenders of the borders, who took an oath to ensure peace and security, could perform their tasks in comfortable conditions.
During the event, the president handed over to the military unit 30 new JAC SUVs, purchased for more than KGS 51 million.
During the visit, President Sadyr Zhaparov familiarized with the infrastructure of the renovated unit, inspected the thoroughly renovated buildings, living conditions of servicemen, as well as material and technical base.
