Bishkek, March 8, 2021. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov congratulated women of the country's on the International Women's Day, his press service said on Monday.
In his address, the Kyrgyz leader noted that a woman is not only a mother, wife, sister, daughter, but also the keeper of the family hearth and a symbol of the people's freedom.
"Historically, women in Kyrgyz society have always been deeply respected and their role in public and political life has been high.
Carefully preserving the continuity of generations, the modern woman of Kyrgyzstan combines the best folk traditions - tolerance, commitment to family and devotion to children," Zhaparov stressed.
He added that today women of the republic work in various spheres, take an active part in public life.
"Measures are being taken to increase the role of women in government and thus, further strengthen the achievements made.
In the upcoming elections to local councils for the first time women will be given a 30% quota, so they will have a unique opportunity to significantly influence political processes at the local level," the president said.
In a conclusion, Zhaparov wished women of Kyrgyzstan health, piece, love and prosperity adding that they are invaluable asset of the nation, pride and inexhaustible source of inspiration.
