Sadyr Zhaparov's state visit to Azerbaijan concluded

Bishkek, April 26, 2024 / Kabar/. The state visit of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to the Republic of Azerbaijan, which took place on April 24-25, has ended.

On the first day of the visit to Baku, an official meeting ceremony between President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev took place at the Zugulba residence.

During the negotiations between the leaders, issues of deepening bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic, investment, energy, transport, agricultural, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed.

After the meeting in a limited format, the leaders of the two countries held the second meeting of the interstate council of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, it was noted that the observed complete identity of the approaches of the two countries to the development of cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats was observed.

As part of Sadyr Zhaparov's visit to Azerbaijan, a number of documents were signed.

Further, following the results of negotiations with the leader of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President Sadyr Zhaparov made a statement to the media.

On the same day, Sadyr Zhaparov and Ilham Aliyev took part in the opening ceremony of the monument to the outstanding Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov in a park on one of the central streets of Baku - Azadlyk.

The president of Kyrgyzstan emphasized the importance of cultural ties between the two countries and the great role of Chyngyz Aitmatov in strengthening friendship between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.

In addition, as part of the state visit, President Sadyr Zhaparov paid tribute to the memory of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and laid a wreath at his grave on the Alley of Honor.

The head of state also laid flowers at the grave of Zarifa Aliyeva, Heydar Aliyev’s life partner. The memory of the famous statesman Aziz Aliyev and professor Tamerlan Aliyev was also honored, and flowers were laid at their graves.

On the second day of the visit, April 25, President Sadyr Zhaparov arrived in the city of Fuzuli, where he was personally met by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Here, the leaders of the two countries took part in the ceremony of laying a time capsule for the construction of a future secondary school in the Khydyrly area.

The school will be built as a gift to the brotherly people of Azerbaijan from the people of Kyrgyzstan.

The presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan jointly familiarized themselves with the master plan for the development of the cities of Fizuli and Agdam.

As part of their trip to Agdam, the presidents visited the 18th-century complex where the palace and burial place of the founder of the Karabakh Khanate, Panahali Khan, are located.

Here, horses of the Azerbaijani breed were presented to Sadyr Zhaparov and Ilham Aliyev.

Presidents visited the Juma mosque, and also visited the ancient Shahbulag fortress, where they got acquainted with the work on its restoration.

Having completed his state visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, President Sadyr Zhaparov returned to Bishkek on April 25.
