Sadyr Zhaparov's working visit to Turkmenistan completed

The working visit of President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov to Turkmenbashi city of Turkmenistan, which took place on August 5-6 this year to participate in the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States, has ended, the president’s press service reported.

At a Consultative Meeting, the leaders of the Central Asian country discussed key aspects of the development of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian interaction between the countries of the region.

In addition, a constructive dialogue took place on pressing issues of international development.

In his speech, Sadyr Zhaparov drew particular attention to the creation of favorable conditions for partnership in the energy sector, noted the importance of developing trade relations and increasing the volume of export-import operations between the countries of the region, stressed the need to expand cooperation in the transport and communication field, and also called on the leaders to jointly cooperation in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection.

Following the results of the Consultative Meeting, a Joint Statement of the Heads of State of Central Asia was adopted.

During the visit, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic held bilateral talks with the presidents of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The heads of state discussed the urgent tasks of bilateral cooperation, exchanged views on issues of regional stability, emphasized the high level of mutual understanding, respect and trust between the countries.

Then Sadyr Zhaparov, together with the leaders of the countries of the region, visited two exhibitions, where industrial goods and national dishes of the countries of Central Asia were presented.

Wwithin the framework of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia, the Dialogue of Women of Central Asian Countries and the Economic Forum of Central Asian Countries were also held.

After completing his working visit, today, on August 6, the head of the Kyrgyz Republic returned to Bishkek.
