Safe City project. Photo-video system to be installed along 38 roads of Kyrgyzstan by January 1

Bishkek, Dec. 19, 2018. /Kabar/. By January 1, 2019, appropriate photo-video equipment will be installed under the Safe City project along 38 roads of the capital and central highways of the republic, First Vice Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov told during a parliament session.

As reported, the cost of the project implementation was set at 2 billion 550 million soms. According to the results of the tender, the winner is the Russian company, Vega Radio Engineering Corporation, which is to implement this project for the amount of 2 billion 320 million soms (less by 230 million soms).

Boronov noted that by January 1, 2019, the corresponding photo-video equipment will be installed along 38 roads of the capital and central highways of the republic. In particular, photo-video equipment will be installed in Bishkek-Manas International Airport highway, along Bishkek-Kemin, Bishkek-Chaldovar, Bishkek-Kordai roads. It became known that the implementation of the first phase will require 33 million soms.

During the discussion, deputies raised the issue of notice of fines. The parliamentarians expressed concern that the fines will be received by persons whose name was used for car registration, but who are not the actual owner of the vehicle.
