Bishkek, Dec.1, 2017. /Kabar/. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov met today in Sochi, Russian Federation with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang . The 16th meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states is taking place there.
Sapar Isakov congratulated Li Keqiang on re-election as a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the successful holding of the 19th Congress of the Communist Party of China.
"China is a reliable strategic partner of Kyrgyzstan, which always stood side by side in a difficult time for the country. We are interested in further progressive development of our bilateral relations for their deepening and strengthening," said Isakov.
The Prime Minister thanked the Chinese government for the support and assistance provided to Kyrgyzstan.
"The Kyrgyz side supports the initiative of Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping to create the Silk Road Economic Belt and hopes to accelerate and expand cooperation between the countries. Today, with the participation of Chinese capital , a number of projects in the field of transport, energy, agriculture and others are being implemented in Kyrgyzstan," said Isakov.
During the meeting the sides noted that there are issues on agenda of bilateral cooperation that require discussion. In particular, project of construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway requires a lot of discussion.
The sides confirmed the existence of firm political will for the project implementation. They also agreed to work out its technical and economic aspects at the level of the tripartite working group.
"It is gratifying that the positions of the sides on the need for the speediest construction of the railway are the same. As it is known, the Uzbek side also supports the implementation of this project, and is also ready to participate and guarantee free transit through its territory," said Isakov.
In addition, Kyrgyzstan relies on Chinese financial support in the construction of the ring road around the Issyk-Kul lake. Isakov also noted the need to establish a Kyrgyz-Chinese investment fund in order to increase trade and economic circle between the countries.
Sapar Isakov focused on the issue of obtaining a Chinese visa for road hauliers and citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
"Considering mutual trips of citizens as an important component of the development of bilateral trade and economic relations, we ask the Chinese side to consider the possibility of alleviating the procedure for issuing visas for Kyrgyz citizens," added Isakov.
Li Keqiang said that China and Kyrgyzstan are equal partners and good neighbors. China is ready to support Kyrgyzstan's efforts to maintain the country's national interests, independence and sovereignty.
"China further will continue to create favorable conditions and support the increase in trade and economic circle between the two countries and increase the potential of Kyrgyzstan in the field of agriculture, in particular, the increase in imports of agricultural products to the People's Republic of China and third countries," said Li Keqiang
He also stressed that the Chinese side is interested in building the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
Regarding the issue related to alleviating the procedure for obtaining Chinese visas for Kyrgyz citizens, the Premier of the State Council of China said that consulting service on this issue should be held at the level of Foreign Ministries of the two countries.
In conclusion, Li Keqiang added that the issues raised by Sapar Isakov on the construction of the ring road around Issyk-Kul lake and the establishment of the Kyrgyz-Chinese investment fund will be carefully considered by Chinese side.
