Bishkek, Jan. 24, 2018 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz Prime Minister Sapar Isakov met with Georgian Prime Minister Georgi Kvirikashvili on Jan. 23 as part of his participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the Kyrgyz Government’s press service reported.
Isakov stressed that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the further development of friendly relations with Georgia.
In addition, in order to expand trade and economic cooperation, the Prime Minister stressed the holding of the second meeting of the Kyrgyz-Georgian intergovernmental commission in Bishkek in the near future.
The Prime Minister of Georgia replied that the two countries have great potential for increasing trade and economic turnover, intercultural dialogue, and also noted the efforts of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the area of carrying out reforms, including digital transformation.
Sapar Isakov said that at the moment the country is working on the Development Strategy for the period up to 2040.
He told about Taza Koom project, the implementation of which will lead to greater transparency in the public administration system and l become a powerful tool for countering and preventing corruption.
"We are aware of the results of the reforms in Georgia, the experience you have accumulated is very important for us. We see serious prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation with your country. Georgia's experience in implementing reforms in the sphere of public administration, provision of public services to the population, etc. will be useful for Kyrgyzstan. In this regard, we express our interest in the exchange of experience," Isakov added.
Also, the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic congratulated the Georgian side on the successful adoption of the chairmanship of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) and expressed confidence that Georgia, based on its experience, will make a significant contribution to the global movement, which struggle for transparency and strong democracy.
Isakov stressed that Kyrgyzstan was the first country in Central Asia to join the Open Government international partnership program.
"The Kyrgyz Republic will work in three directions within the framework of the Open Government Partnership: public services available, transparent public procurement and open data. We know that your country has achieved good results in terms of strengthening the openness and transparency of public administration. We will be glad to cooperate in this direction," the Prime Minister stressed.
Together with this, in order to establish intercultural dialogue between the two countries, Sapar Isakov invited Georgy Kvirikashvili and the sports delegation of Georgia to take part in the Third World Nomad Games in September 2018.
