Bishkek, June 14 / Kabar /. Head of the President's Staff Sapar Isakov met with Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Li Yong, the Kyrgyz President’s press service reported.
Sapar Isakov greeted the UNIDO delegation and expressed gratitude for the invaluable contribution to the development of Kyrgyzstan.
The head of the President’s Office noted the republic's commitment to the development of the green economy. Isakov also spoke about the launching of Taza Koom program, which will become an integral part of the country's development strategy until 2040. “Taza Koom program also assumes that the country will focus on developing a green economy, developing renewable energy sources," he said.
The Director General of UNIDO expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and stressed the importance of the country's commitment to developing a green economy. He expressed readiness of the organization to cooperate and support the republic in matters of ensuring environmental safety in the implementation of industrial projects.
During the conversation, the sides discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of hydropower development, which envisage the introduction of new generating capacities in Kyrgyzstan, as well as interaction in the field of infrastructure development and the energy system in the light of the implementation of the CASA-1000 project and taking into account the potential of the country's hydropower and renewable energy sources.
