Bishkek, March 13, 2023. /Kabar/. Schoolchildren in Turkish Kahramanmarash are taught in Kyrgyz yurts, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Rayev wrote on his Facebook page.

According to him, he visited the inhabitants of this city, who suffered from a strong earthquake. Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez and Governor Haydar Mete briefed the situation on the ground. Today, people live in yurts brought from Kyrgyzstan, school classes are held, medical centers operate, psychological assistance is provided, and field kitchens are organized.

“When we approached the yurt camp, the first two flags that caught my eye were those of Kyrgyzstan and Turkiye. The Kyrgyz banner turned out to be much larger than the Turkish one. We asked our Turkish brothers why? They replied that this is how they express their respect and reverence to the Kyrgyz people for being one of the first to provide support in the most difficult days,” Rayev said.

He added that the Turks also noted the practicality of yurts. The Secretary General of TURKSOY also talked with the residents of this town and learned about their well-being. Each of the interlocutors expressed sincere words of gratitude.
