Schoolchildren in Kyrgyzstan recommended to wear masks

Bishkek, Aug. 26, 2022. / Kabar /. Doctors in Kyrgyzstan recommend to observe the mask regime in schools, the Republican headquarters said.

In the new academic year, sanitary and hygienic rules must be fully observed in schools, it said.

According to Maria Kushubakova, General Hygiene Doctor of the Ministry of Health of the country, it is necessary to install sanitizers at the entrances to educational institutions, maintain social distance, and provide toilets with soap and detergent.

Children must also carry antiseptics or wet wipes.

“Currently, the mask regime has been canceled in Kyrgyzstan. But during the fall and winter months, there is an increase in infectious diseases such as influenza and COVID-19. Therefore, we recommend that you observe the mask regime in schools. Along with this, it is necessary to ventilate classrooms and corridors for 10-15 minutes. Parents and teachers should teach children to follow the sanitary and epidemiological rules,” Kushubakova said.

339 new COVID-19 cases were registered in Kyrgyzstan from August 15 to August 22. Maria Kushubakova noted that 5.2% of them are children under 6 years old, and 10.5% - children from 7 to 12 years old.
