Bishkek, Jan. 26, 2021 /Kabar/. During a meeting on Tuesday, Deputy Mayor of Bishkek for social issues Aizhan Chynybayeva said that there are 190 municipal educational institutions in the capital.
She added 171,337 schoolchildren are studying in 97 capital schools, designed for 76,935 pupils.
"This data shows that schools in Bishkek are overcrowded by almost 2.5 times," the deputy mayor said.
Chynybayeva also informed about the situation in kindergartens.
"Now there are 86 municipal kindergartens in the capital, designed for 14 thousand 360 places, but actually 27 thousand 327 children attend them. Overcrowding is almost 2 times. Moreover, there are 26 thousand 180 children in the electronic queue to the kindergartens,” she added.
