Schools to be built in Bishkek and Osh as part of public-private partnership

Bishkek, Oct.9, 2019. /Kabar/. 20 schools will be built in Bishkek and Osh as part of the public-private partnership, the press service of the Kyrgyz Education Ministry reported.

Education Minister Kanybek Isakov met with representatives of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Petyo Nikolov, Saltanat Alymkulova and Nasser Makouddou.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the directions of a joint project of public-private partnership for the construction and reconstruction of schools.

20 new schools in Bishkek and Osh are planned to be built as part of this project. Currently, the city authorities have allocated land for the construction of educational institutions. Within six months, IFC experts are to calculate the necessary funds for the construction of schools and prepare a feasibility study.

The International Finance Corporation will cover all costs of the project.

The education minister supported the project and asked to speed up its implementation.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is an international financial institution that offers investment, advisory, and asset-management services to encourage private-sector development in less developed countries. The IFC is a member of the World Bank Group.
