Bishkek, June 9, 2022 / Kabar /. Second Forum of Rectors of Universities of Kyrgyzstan and Russia took place in Yekaterinburg at the site of the Ninth Kyrgyz-Russian Interregional Conference, the press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The purpose of the Forum was to discuss key areas of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in the educational and scientific fields, issues of joint training and integration of the education systems of Kyrgyzstan and Russia as part of the development of Eurasian integration and the creation of a single educational process of the EAEU.
During the event, the parties once again mutually agreed that the Forum of rectors of the universities of Kyrgyzstan and Russia confirmed its status as a key platform for interaction in the field of higher education and science between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation.
The Forum was attended by about 30 leaders and representatives from the universities of the Kyrgyz Republic and more than 60 leaders and representatives from the universities of the Russian Federation, as well as heads of relevant ministries of the two countries.
As a result of the Forum, more than 40 cooperation documents were signed aimed at supporting interuniversity projects in the field of academic mobility of students and teachers, developing and implementing joint educational programs of higher education, additional professional education for advanced training programs and professional retraining programs, holding youth forums, summer and winter schools and other events.
One of the main documents signed as a result of the Second Forum was the Memorandum on the establishment of the Association of Universities of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
The main goal of this Association will be to assist in strengthening and expanding cooperation in the field of education and science between educational institutions of higher education of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation in priority areas of cooperation.
At the end of the Forum, the participants adopted the Resolution of the Second Forum of Rectors of Universities of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
