Bishkek, Feb. 27 / Kabar /. Second Kyrgyz-British business forum, which is slated to be held tomorrow, 28 February, in Bishkek, will further strengthen bilateral relations, Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan Arzybek Kozhoshev told at a meeting with a delegation from the first historical Trade Mission to Bishkek.
"Our relations have a long history. Our last year's trip to London and signed the agreements gave a big boost to our bilateral relations. And I believe that the upcoming business forum tomorrow will bring our economic relations to a new level," Kozhoshev said.
The minister also said that Kyrgyzstan is a small country with an open political system with democratic and parliamentary bias. But there is much to learn from British friends. "Your country has vast experience in the field of public administration and business," he said.
In turn, British Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Robin Ord Smith said that this year marks the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and the United Kingdom. He expressed hope that this forum will rise the bilateral relations to a new level. “The British government has set the same tasks in the field of foreign trade, as well as Kyrgyzstan. And we would like to strengthen and bring our bilateral relations on the part of investments and trade to a higher level. Because these fields are of great benefit to all parties," he said.
He also said that the UK is interested in close cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of consulting services, energy, education. "During the visit to Kyrgyzstan, we are interested in conducting useful meetings with entrepreneurs to build effective cooperation and as a result of this mission specific relationship was established in these spheres,” Robin Ord Smith said.
