From June 28 to July 1, Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan Marat Imankulov took part in a meeting of Secretaries of the Security Councils of countries - participants of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported.
Speaking at the meeting, Marat Imankulov identified a number of challenges and threats relevant to OTS countries, including terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, illegal migration and arms trafficking. The so-called Afghan factor was highlighted.
It was noted that the socio-political situation in Afghanistan, including its humanitarian component, has become more difficult. In this regard, the Kyrgyz side stated the need for financial and food aid from the international community to the Afghan people.
In addition, concern was expressed about the increased activity of various terrorist and extremist organizations located on the territory of Afghanistan.
Marat Imankulov emphasized that given the growing instability in the world, the countries of the OTS, based on the commonality of history, culture, language and religion, need to maintain a common course for coordination and the search for acceptable solutions to strengthen security and stability in the region.
The secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan also participated in a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a member of heads of delegations of OTS member states.
