Bishkek, Dec.26, 2024. /Kabar/. Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan Marat Imankulov met with the leadership of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Jung Thapa Samman and Khil Silvi within the framework of the repatriation of Kyrgyz citizens (women and children) from camps in Iraq and Syria.
During the working meeting, the sides discussed topical issues on providing comprehensive assistance to children of Kyrgyzstan and their protection.
Marat Imankulov noted that on the instructions of President Sadyr Zhaparov, under the coordination of the Secretariat of the Security Council and active support of UNICEF, women and children were returned to Kyrgyzstan from the camps of Iraq and Syria.
“Currently, these citizens with the help of experienced psychologists, social workers and representatives of the clergy are undergoing processes of resocialization, reintegration into society and their rehabilitation,” he said.
In turn, Jung Thapa Samman highly appreciated the decisive position of President Zhaparov in the repatriation of Kyrgyz citizens from the camps in Iraq and Syria, where they were in difficult conditions, and also noted the good work of all government agencies involved in this work.
