Secretary of State of Kyrgyz MFA meets with Special Representative of UN Secretary General

Bishkek, Dec. 19, 2017 / Kabar /. State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Aibek Omokeyev met with Special Representative of the UN Secretary General, head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Natalia Herman.

According to the information provided by the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, during the conversation Omokeyev stressed the importance of continuing constructive and close cooperation of Kyrgyzstan with the UN Regional Center in order to promote stability and security in Central Asia.

On her part, Herman congratulated on the recent successful holding of the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan, informed about the current activities of UNRCCA and plans for the future, reaffirmed readiness to further strengthen and deepen the UN's relations with the Kyrgyz Republic.

Both sides noted the urgency of continuing active international cooperation on a wide range of issues.

UNRACCA is a special political mission of the United Nations, established on the initiative of the governments of five Central Asian countries in December 2007 in Ashgabat. The UNRCCA is working to promote and support the governments of the countries of the region in building their capacity for conflict prevention by enhancing dialogue, building confidence and building partnerships to respond to existing threats and potential challenges to peace and security.
