Several important decisions taken following results of XI meeting of TurkPA

Cholpon-Ata, June 24, 2022. / Kabar /. Following the results of the XI plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TurkPA), which took place today in Cholpon-Ata resort town of Kyrgyzstan, several important decisions were made.

Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Talant Mamytov announced this as part of the final statement.

Thus, the following decisions were made:

- The name Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking States was changed to Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States. On Nov. 12, 2021, at the summit of the heads of member states of the organization in Istanbul, it was decided to rename the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States into the Organization of Turkish States. Therefore, it is obvious that it is advisable to change the name of the parliamentary assembly. This new name clearly reflects the activities and direction of the assembly. Accordingly, the new flag and logo of the assembly was approved;

- Standard draft laws of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States on the support and development of social entrepreneurship were adopted;

- Reports were heard on the activities of the secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States for 2021-2022, reports on budget execution for the specified period;

- The reports of the observation missions of the assembly on the results of the presidential and parliamentary elections in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan were adopted;

- The strategic roadmap for 2023-2028 was approved;

- The action plan and budget for 2023 updated;

- Chairmen of the commissions were appointed and their deputies were elected;

- The Cholpon-Ata Declaration was adopted.
