Bishkek, May 24, 2020 / Kabar/. A shootout occurred on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, the press service of the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan said.
Today, May 24, 2020, on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border in the Moinok area of Batken obast, the Kyrgyz border guard stopped an attempt to graze cattle on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic by residents of the Vorukh enclave of Tajikistan.
Unknown persons from the Tajik side began to shoot towards the Kyrgyz border guards. Further, at about 11 a.m. 40 min there was a short skirmish between the border guards of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
There were no casualties from the border guards of Kyrgyzstan.
Later, at 12.20 p.m. a meeting was held between the border representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan, who arrived at the scene of the incident.
At present, the situation in this section of the Kyrgyz - Tajik state border is relatively stable. The parties are investigating the incident.
