Bishkek, Oct. 17, 2022. /Kabar/. The opening ceremony of the short-term kindergarten/multipurpose center as part of the Integrated Rural Development Project was held ob Oct. 14 in the village of Borko of Osh Oblast of Kyrgyzstan. The project is implemented by the international organization Good Neighbors with funding from KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency).
The opening ceremony was attended by Toltoyev Ernis, deputy governor of Osh Oblast for social issues, Abilov Mamajunus Rajabalievich, deputy akim of Nookat district, Lee Won-Jae, the ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kyrgyz Republic, Yi Jongsu, the director of KOICA's representative office in Kyrgyzstan, and Chun Hongsoo, the country director of Good Neighbors. Also, the event was held with the participation of representatives of the Good Neighbors organization, local self-government bodies and local people.
According to the project, a special classrooms will be built there together with short-term kindergartens. More specifically, the additional study room in the kindergarten will be used as a development center in order to strengthen the potential of the local population. In this regard, the names of kindergartens are considered as the Development Center.
In total, the Development Centers being built in 30 villages of Osh and Batken Oblasts are multi-purpose buildings. The purpose of the building is to expand opportunities for socio-economic activities of the rural population, especially women, and strengthen their capabilities by supporting them.
Ernis Toltoev, deputy governor of Osh oblast for social issues, thanked KOICA and Good Neighbors organizations for their work in the development of agriculture and education in Osh region. On the other hand, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kyrgyzstan, Lee Won-jae, expressed his confidence in the full implementation of this project, the completion of the project, which will ensure the local community to increase their sustainable income by bringing development of a joint and inclusive village that does not leave anyone behind.
From September 2021 to December 2025, the Good Neighbors organization is implementing the "Integrated Rural Development Project" for the local residents of 30 villages belonging to 10 aiyl okmotus of Osh and Batken oblasts, which covers population of about 85,000. The goal of the project is to increase the income of local people through new methods of development of agricultures in rural areas.
