Since beginning of year, Kyrgyzstan extradited 15 people from Russia

Bishkek, April 11, 2023. / Kabar/. In the first quarter of 2023, 15 people were extradited from Russia to Kyrgyzstan,Prosecutor General of the Kyrgyz Republic Kurmankul Zulushev told at a joint meeting of the committees of the Jogorku Kenesh on Tuesday.

He said that today the correctional service of the Kyrgyz Republic is working on the issue of extradition of another 25 citizens of Kyrgyzstan serving sentences in the territory of another state.

“We have friendly relations with all countries, in case of an application for extradition, the prosecution authorities carry out appropriate work. However, there are cases when convicted Kyrgyzstanis do not want to return to their homeland to serve their sentences, and no one can force them,” he noted.

Zulushev also added that 33 people were extradited from Russia to the Kyrgyz Republic last year.
