Bishkek, April 11, 2023. / Kabar/. The volume of industrial production in January-March 2023 amounted to 92.5 billion soms and increased by 7.6% compared to January-March 2022. Zainidin Zhumaliev, Deputy Chairman of the National Statistical Committee, told at a briefing.
According to him, the increase was due to the growth in the output of chemical products by 36.4%, pharmaceutical products by 19.8%, wood and paper products, printing activities by 16.2%, basic metals by 13.6%, rubber, plastic products and building materials by 10.7%, food products (including drinks) and tobacco products by 3.1%, as well as in mining by 21.4%.
He also informed that positive trends were observed in construction, where the increase in volumes amounted to 2.4%, agriculture - 1.9%, wholesale and retail trade - 11.8%.
