Bishkek, Apr. 5, 2019. /Kabar/. Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev commented on the situation at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border.

During the government meeting, he noted that he had already talked with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin three times.

“Our position is to maintain agreements within the framework of the EAEU. The heads of the customs services of the two countries talked and came to the right decision in the office of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan yesterday. We will see results soon,” the Prime Minister said.

In addition, Abylgaziev explained that otherwise, in order to protect its interests, Kyrgyzstan will set its own conditions for the precise fulfillment of the requirements that were adopted during the signing of the agreements.

“Some say we are silent. In economics, there are some issues that are solved silently, through negotiations, very carefully. The government has no position to watch in silence. We work at our level. The problem is being solved. We discussed this issue with the chairman of the EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission) and we will come to the right decision,” he said.

Kazakhstan has introduced additional control at Ak-Tilek checkpoint, which is why a large line of heavy trucks from Kyrgyzstan formed at the border, businessmen are suffering losses.
