Director of the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan Ularbek Sharsheyev is at the conflict site in Bulak-Bashy area and is monitoring the situation.

At present, the skirmish on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border has been stopped.

According to data of the Border Service, two servicemen were injured.

Earlier, the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that in the course of serving in Bulak-Bashy area of ​​ Batken region, the Kyrgyz border guards discovered the border guards of Tajikistan who illegally crossed the conditional border line and entered the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

Ignoring the legitimate demands of the Kyrgyz border guards to leave the territory of Kyrgyzstan, the Tajik border guards opened fire on Kyrgyz servicemen.

An exchange of fire ensued between the border guards of the two countries, during which the Tajik side used mortars.

Later, the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan reported that Tajikistan started deploying heavy equipment to the border line.

The Border Service is taking all measures to prevent the escalation of the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, the report said.
