Bishkek, April 14, 2022. / Kabar /. As of April 14, the situation in Batken region of Kyrgyzstan is stable, the night passed calmly, the local state administration reported.
Currently, law enforcement agencies are on duty in an enhanced mode. The head of the region Abdikarim Alimbaev, director of the Border Service Ularbek Sharsheev and deputy chairman Aibek Shamenov are working in the region.
On April 12, a shootout occurred on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border due to the penetration of Tajik border guards deep into the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic. Further, the Tajik side fired mortars at the Kyrgyz village of Dostuk. Residents of this village, as well as the villages of Arka, Borborduk, Zhashtyk and Maksat left their homes at night. During the conflict, 6 citizens of Kyrgyzstan were injured, two of whom were servicemen.
On April 13, a meeting of delegations from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was held, the situation has relatively stabilized. A protocol was signed on the withdrawal of additional forces drawn to the border during the border conflict to their permanent deployment points.
The civilians who fled and evacuated from the border villages again began to return to their homes.
