Bishkek, Sept. 23, 2022 . / Kabar / . The situation in Batken Oblast, in contrast to previous days, is moving towards stabilization, Governor Abdykarim Alimbaev said Friday.
However, he added, tensions remain.
"Now unverified and unreliable information about the situation in the region is spreading in social networks. I urge citizens not to spread unreliable information, because it directly hinders our work and sows panic among the local population," the official said.
The governor noted that relevant government agencies and services continue to work in the region.
On Sept. 14-17, Tajikistan showed armed aggression by attacking the Kyrgyz border outposts and populated areas of Batken and Osh Oblasts in order to seize the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
As a result of a treacherous planned military invasion by the armed forces of Tajikistan, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, 59 people were killed, including military personnel and civilians, including children, and 198 were injured.
