Tashkent, Jan. 27, 2022 . / Kabar / . Currently, gas supply in Uzbekistan has been restored to 63% of consumers, but in many regions there is still a problematic situation with gas pressure, the press service of the republic’s Ministry of Energy said Thursday.
Pressure is lower than necessary in 89% of consumers in Tashkent Region, 67% of those in Tashkent, 77% of those in Namangan Region, 73% of those in Andijan Region and 32% of those in Fergana Region.
According to experts, gas companies will need at least two days to provide power plants with the required level of gas and restore the necessary working pressure in the system of main gas pipelines. Currently, work is underway to fully launch the compressor stations.
A large-scale power outage occurred in Uzbekistan on Jan. 25 at around 11 a.m. local time. The power outage led to a shutdown of 64 gas fields in the country. Yesterday, the work of 62 fields was restored.
