Six tons of drugs seized in Kyrgyzstan since beginning of year

Bishkek, July 26, 2022 . / Kabar / . About 6 tons of drugs were withdrawn from the illicit traffic in the first six months of 2022, the press service of Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

Illicit substances also include psychotropic substances and their precursors.

The above data is 60% more than in the same period last year:

- heroin - 33 kg 092 g;
- opium - 7 kg 730 grams;
- hashish - 92 kg 108 gr.
- marihuana - 65 kg 143 g
- Cannabis plant - 3 kg 655 g
- Psychotropic substances - 12 kg 900 g
- Precursors - about 3 tons 200 kg
- ephedra - 142 kg
- other types - 25 kg 594 g.

According to the General Prosecutor's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, 720 crimes in the field of illicit drug trafficking were registered in the Unified Register of Crimes.

In addition, 5 internet stores were liquidated and 2 drug websites were blocked.

Approximate cost of seized narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors is KGS 3 billion 165 million 545 thousand 757.
