Skier Maxim Gordeev carries Kyrgyzstan’s flag at parade during opening of Olympic Games in Beijing

Bishkek, Feb. 4, 2022. / Kabar /. XXIV Winter Olympic Games 2022 has started on Feb. 4 in the capital of China in Beijing.

The sports delegation of Kyrgyzstan took part in the parade of athletes. The flag of Kyrgyzstan was carried by skier Maxim Gordeev. He is the only athlete from Kyrgyzstan who participates in the Olympics.

In addition to Maxim Gordeev, the sports delegation of Kyrgyzstan at the Olympics included his coach Igor Borisov, chief of mission, employee of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) Cholpon Zhumagazieva. Also, at the invitation of the International Olympic Committee, the President of the NOC of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Mamytov, and the Secretary General of the NOC, Kylychbek Sarbagishev, are participating.

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, who is on a working visit to China, is participating in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.

The Olympics will be held on Feb. 4 - 20 in Beijing. Maxim Gordeev will perform on Feb. 16.
