Small business virtually recovered by 80% - Kyrgyz Government

Bishkek, Aug. 28, 2020 /Kabar/. Thanks to the measures taken by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to support business, a certain effect is already seen today, the press service of the government reported.

It is noted that small business has recovered virtually by 80%, Prime Minister of the republic Kubatbek Boronov said Friday at a meeting of the Council of Business Development and Investment under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.

This is the data on monitoring small and medium businesses operating on the basis of a patent. If in January-February 2020, the number of issued patents was at the level of 95-97 thousand, in March 2020, this index decreased to 20 thousand issued patents. Now this index has approached the figure of 75 thousand patents. In addition, for the first 8 months of 2020, the volume of tax revenues almost reached the level of 2019 (in January-August 2019 – KGS 38.9 billion, in January-August 2020 - KGS 37.5 billion).

"The issue of simplifying the activities for small businesses and optimizing the forms of a single tax return is under consideration. Thus, it simplifies the procedure of passing the goods at the border with the use of digital platforms, which will contribute to reducing the volume of smuggling. One element of this work will be the implementation of the project to implement the One Window - One Stop principle and electronic declaration in the customs service, as well as the transition of the tax service to the service model of work ("Sanarip Salym"). Besides, in order to promptly solve the problems faced by enterprises and investors, we have introduced a mentoring mechanism," the prime minister said.

Addressing representatives of state bodies, Kubatbek Boronov said that in order to support business, packages of anti-crisis measures have been adopted, the Action Plan of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic until the end of 2020 has been approved.
