Bishkek, June 12, 2020. /Kabar/. All socially stationary institutions in Kyrgyzstan are provided with food and medicines, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development Aliza Soltonbekova told Friday.
According to her data, the ministry has 17 such institutions with 2 thousand 370 residents. There are 724 elderly and persons with disabilities, 1 thousand 226 adults and 420 children with psychoneurological diagnosis.
"In view of the unfavorable situation in the country due to the spread of coronavirus epidemic, all institutions were closed down for quarantine. They are all provided with food and medicines. There are 448 employees working on a round-the-clock basis," the deputy minister assured.
In addition, the UN WFP has purchased products to provide a three-month food ration to these 17 boarding schools for CHF 200 thousand, allocated by the Swiss Government.
