Bishkek, April 11, 2022. / Kabar /. It is proposed to increase the retirement age for women by two years from 58 to 60, deputy head of the Social Fund of Kyrgyzstan Gulnura Zhumataeva told at parliamentary hearings on reforming the pension system.

She said that 70% of pensioners in the country are women, and their life expectancy is many times greater than that of men.

“But they retire earlier. In other countries, the retirement age for men and women is the same. For example, in Europe everyone retires at 65 - both men and women. Kazakhstan is moving to this step by step. Russia began to introduce this with civil servants. We are not yet talking about equalizing the retirement age, we are proposing to raise the retirement age for women from 58 to 60 years. To be honest, no one in the civil service wants to retire at 58. Women at 58 are still young,” Zhumataeva said.
