Bishkek, Nov. 1, 2018. /Kabar/. Trainings were conducted in Bishkek from October 29 to November 1, within the framework of the Inclusive Society for Children with Disabilities project, Phase II.
the FSDS Public Foundation (Fair and Sustainable Development Solutions) reported that the trainings were conducted under the WHO Community-Based Rehabilitation program (CBR). The goal of the program is to increase access to quality community-based rehabilitation services for people with disabilities and promote empowerment and participation in resolving issues affecting their lives.
The organizers told that the program will help resolve many issues relating to the lives of people with disabilities at the local government level and build an inclusive society. The training covered the theoretical and practical issues of implementing the CBR program.
Representatives of local governments, social development departments, and day-care rehabilitation centers for children with disabilities from all over the country participated in the training.
One of the main tasks of the training was to familiarize representatives of state structures with the CBR, which would later become the basis for working with communities, using the methods and principles of this program. Moreover, the trainer taught practical skills to the rehabilitation center specialists so that they could pass their skills on to other specialists and parents on spots.
“Rehabilitation should be a joy, not a burden,” coach from Tajikistan Umeda Munnavarova said.
