Bishkek, April 6, 2022 . / Kabar /. Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Beishenaliev plans to assign a special status to five universities in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the ministry said Wednesday.
Minister Beishenaliev held on Monday a meeting with rectors of universities of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Thus, during the meeting Beishenaliev expressed the ministry's position on the ways and mechanisms of implementation of reforms at the level of higher education.
"Universities of Kyrgyzstan after 5 years of work should take the first place in the ranking of universities in Europe and Central Asia. In this regard, the special status will be granted to five universities, they will be given economic and industrial freedom, they will be able to independently approve standards, the rules of admission, open branches in a simplified manner and change the management system,” he said.
Along with this, the minister stressed the need for the implementation of the full life cycle of innovative projects.
"Universities should not only develop education, but also include science, entrepreneurship, production and implementation of innovative projects," Beyshenaliev explained.
In conclusion, he noted that there are plans to unite universities to mobilize resources.
