Bishkek, June 8, 2022 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, today, launched the construction of the Kambarata HPP-1 in the Jalal-Abad region. The head of state pressed a button on the control panel, after which an explosion occurred, symbolizing the start of a large-scale construction project.
A veteran of the power industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Lev Vasiliev told that the construction of this hydropower plant will have an extremely positive impact on the development of the industry in the country. The implementation of this project will provide the country with energy security and energy stability.
“At the moment, there is not enough capacity and the construction of the Kambarata hydropower plant will not give anything but good. After all, hydropower is a fundamental element, the development of every element of it is a definite plus for Kyrgyzstan. The new hydroelectric power station will fully allow to develop and regulate the flow of Naryn, since the water in the river is the same, but the more often the stations are installed, the more electricity will be in the end. Our mountain rivers are what Kyrgyzstan is rich in,” the specialist shared.
Vasiliev noted that the construction will take more than one year, since the project is large, and the station is extremely powerful and located in the mountains, but the construction will be a great boon for the republic.
