Sooronbay Jeenbekov leaves for Ashgabat

Bishkek, Oct.11, 2019. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov left for Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) for working visit to participate in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

The meeting of the CIS Heads of State will be held in a narrow and extended formats.

The regular meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State includes discussion of topical issues of cooperation within the framework of the CIS, as well as the draft Declaration on Strategic Economic Cooperation of the CIS member states.

Documents are expected to be signed following the meeting.

During his working visit, the Kyrgyz President will also meet with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow in a bilateral format.

In addition, meeting of Sooronbay Jeenbekov with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon is scheduled.

During the visit to Turkmenistan, Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov is accompanied by:

- Minister of Foreign Affairs Chingiz Aidarbekov;

- Head of the foreign policy department of the President’s Office Daniyar Sydykov;

- Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Belarus, Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Statutory Bodies of the CIS Ermek Ibrayimov.
