Bishkek, Nov.19, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s priority area is export development, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said at the High-Level International Donor Conference.
He said a special program for the development of exports of the Kyrgyz Republic has been adopted.
“A project to finance export-oriented and import-substituted enterprises was approved. We have identified the clothing industry and processing of meat, milk and fruits and vegetables as priority areas for the medium term. The main problem is the lack of cheap long-term funds for export production. Therefore, there is a need to create a special financial institution to finance export operations,” he said.
President Jeenbekov noted special emphasis would be placed on improving the investment climate for export development.
“Mechanisms to support investment projects will be introduced in a short period of time through a Unified Window principle. Measures to improve the position of Kyrgyzstan in the Doing Business and Transparency International ratings will be developed urgently.
New tools for attracting investments, including public-private partnership mechanisms, will be widely disseminated. Projects in the field of energy, transport, education, health, sports, tourism will be supported using the world's best practices of public-private partnership " he added.
