Bishkek, May 11, 2018. / Kabar. /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov received today Deputy Director-Distributor of the International Monetary Fund Tao Zhang, the press service of the President reported.
The Kyrgyz President expressed his satisfaction that the IMF delegation takes part in an international conference in honor of the 25th anniversary of the introduction of the national currency of the country.
"We highly appreciate cooperation with the IMF, and we express our gratitude for the continued support of the Kyrgyz Republic in promoting structural reforms and economic development. We are interested in maintaining strong and mutually beneficial partnership relations with the IMF," Jeenbekov said.
Deputy Director-Distributor of the International Monetary Fund Tao Zhang congratulated Jeenbekov on his election as President of Kyrgyzstan and wished him success in his responsible work.
He stressed that the IMF considers Kyrgyzstan its strategic partner and intends to successfully continue cooperation to develop the country's economy. "Taking this into account, I personally decided to visit Kyrgyzstan and congratulate you on the 25th anniversary of the national currency," said Tao Zhang.
The Head of State expressed his gratitude to Edward Jemael for his fruitful work as head of the IMF mission in Kyrgyzstan and his personal contribution in the promotion and implementation of programs, the development of bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and the IMF.
He wished success to the new head of the mission, Christian Zhos, and expressed his hope for fruitful and successful cooperation.
