Bishkek, Jan. 19, 2022. / Kabar /. South Korea has resumed accepting labor migrants from Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Ministry of Social Development said.
Minister of Labour, Social Security and Migration Kudaibergen Bazarbaev met with the participants of the recruitment program for employment in the Republic of Korea.
The meeting was also attended by the director of the EPS (Employment Permit System) Center of the Republic of Korea in Kyrgyzstan, Kim Eun-ki.
Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic are sent to the Republic of Korea by the Center for Employment of Citizens Abroad under the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration. Due to restrictions related to COVID-19, the sending of Kyrgyz citizens to the Republic of Korea was suspended by the Korean side in March 2021. From December 29, 2021, the Republic of Korea resumed accepting Kyrgyzstanis under employment contracts, the report said.
The ministry noted that an agreement was reached on organizing a charter flight on the Bishkek-Seoul route.
“Over the past 15 years, 3.5 thousand people have been employed in the Republic of Korea, most of them in the light industry and electrical engineering. Employment contracts provide for insurance against accidents at work. Accumulated insurance premiums are returned to citizens after the expiration of the employment contract,” the Kyrgyz minister said.
