Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh receives ambassador of Azerbaijan

Bishkek, March 18, 2024. /Kabar/. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Shakiev received Ambassador of Azerbaijan Latif Gandilov.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of building up political, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties and expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Speaker Shakiev noted that Kyrgyzstan pays special attention to the development of relations with Azerbaijan. “We are fraternal peoples with similar history, language, culture and spiritual values. We need to strengthen cooperation in all areas and develop partnerships based on friendship. In this case, your role as an ambassador is special,” he said.

Shakiev also indicated that parliamentary diplomacy can become an important bridge of friendship in strengthening relations. “In recent years, our inter-parliamentary cooperation has been actively developing, the agreements reached between the countries are being successfully implemented,” he emphasized.

In turn, the ambassador recalled the words of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev that “the Turkic world is our family.” “We are interested in expanding our relations with all fraternal countries, including Kyrgyzstan,” the ambassador added.

In addition, he provided information about the work done within the framework of diplomatic activities, spoke about the agreements reached and issues under consideration between the countries.
